Man sized yellowfin tuna

Giant yellowfin tuna (120 pounds and over): While available year round, they really become concentrated the last 10 days of September through the end of March, and usually in water depths less than 400 feet. After March, they sort of disperse back offshore, primarily on the temperature breaks and weedlines, and become a lot harder to target. We primarily focus on the shrimpboats in the fall, as these jumbos follow the shrimpers waiting for them to cull their catch. Winter months find these tunas on the numerous salt domes within the area. A variety of methods are used to target these behemoths, including live bait, the kite, chunking, trolling, and a few other methods Woody has perfected.
